Today’s meditation is on 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18:

¹⁶ Rejoice always, ¹⁷ pray without ceasing, ¹⁸ give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Lord, I try to rejoice always in your goodness, but sometimes when things get hectic I forget all that you have done for me. Sometimes when I am being pulled in more than one direction I lose the one direction that counts above all else. I lose my focus on you.

Lord I pray that as this week goes on I will rejoice in your eternal presence, I pray that I will thank you no matter what the circumstances are, and I hope that I will always call on your name in prayer throughout the week.

Lord, I strive to do your will and I will try to always be faithful in calling out your name in prayer. Lord, help me to regain my focus on you when I start to lose focus.

I ask this in Jesus’ name,
