This week’s meditation is on Matthew 5:16:

¹⁶ In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.

Heavenly Father, I thank you for always being with me. I thank you for walking with me in the good times and carrying me through the tough times. I pray Lord that when things start to close in around me I will remember to look to you for strength and for guidance. I pray that I will remember to look toward your light.

As I go through this new week I also pray Lord that I will always shine a light before others, so that they will see your glory through my words and my actions. I pray my light will shine so brightly that people will ask me where my hope and my optimism comes from. I pray that when people ask me I will have the courage to give you all the glory.

I ask this in Jesus’ Holy Name,
