Monday Meditation: James 5:13

This week’s meditation is on James 5:13:

13 Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praise.

Dear God, when I am down you lift me up. Whenever I need you you are there for me. I often remember to call on your name when I am suffering or when I am troubled, but do I always remember to praise you when I am cheerful or grateful? I think sometimes I forget from whom all blessing flow.

I pray Lord that I will always remember to sing your praises and to glorify your name, not only when things are going well but also when I am troubled. I pray that I will remember to take a moment to close my eyes and to thank you, because it is to you I owe everything.

May I never take it for granted all you have done for me. I pray that you will always be at the forefront of my thoughts and not just a thought among other thoughts. I pray Lord that not only will I sing your praises to myself, but that I will also boldly proclaim the name of the Lord to all those around me.

This world needs to hear of your glory, Lord help me to be a messenger.

Amen
