This week we meditate on Jeremiah 17:7-8:
“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord,
whose trust is the Lord.
8 He is like a tree planted by water,
that sends out its roots by the stream,
and does not fear when heat comes,
for its leaves remain green,
and is not anxious in the year of drought,
for it does not cease to bear fruit.”
Dear Lord, as we head into the next week and prepare for what is a head of us, I put all of my trust in you. You will guide my path and you will provide for me, you are all I need. Your grace is sufficient for me.
Just as you provide water and sun to the tree, so you provide for me also. In you I lack nothing.
If I begin to feel anxious I will put my trust in you and you will calm me. If I start to get angry I will call out to you for patience and you will hear me. I will not fear the heat of the day because you have grounded me in good soil. I put all of my worries and troubles into your hands knowing that you will take care of me.
Amen
