This week we meditate on Proverbs 3:5:

Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
    and do not lean on your own understanding.

Dear God in Heaven, I know that you are in charge, and I know that you are always with me to guide me and to make straight my paths. Yet sometimes when I am going through my day I don’t stop to think if something I say or something I do is something you would want me to say or to do.

Sometimes Lord I decide to do something my own way instead of seeking to do it your way. Lord I ask that you will help me to remember not to lean on my own understanding, but to trust in your will with all my heart.

You are here for me Lord, and I need to remember that when things start to get complicated. When things start to get complicated I sometimes forget to lean on you. I need to remember not to lean on my own understanding. I pray to remember to take a step back, take a deep breath, and call out to you in times of turmoil.
