This week’s meditation is on Colossians 3:23:

Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men

Heavenly Father, I read this verse and I understand that it was addressed to slaves and bond servants. Yet it applies to us as well. It is true that I am free, but I still have obligations and duties.

This verse reminds me that although I am working for somebody else, I should apply myself as if I am working for you. I should have you in mind in everything I do, so that you can be glorified in my actions.

Lord, help me to remember this. I pray that I will glorify your name in all my actions and in all my words.

I ask this in Jesus’ holy and precious name,

Amen
