Today we meditate on Psalm 23:1-4:
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters.
3 He restores my soul.
He leads me in paths of righteousness
for his name’s sake.4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
These are probably the most quoted verses in all of the bible. Even many of those who do not know God have heard these verses. They are beautiful words of God’s comfort, of His rest, and of His strength. They remind us that God will give us all of these things when we need them.
As I write this, I am thinking of those who know these words, but do not know God. I long for the days when everybody will know the comfort, rest, and strength of God.
Dear Lord, I pray that all will come to know you, that all will eventually find your truth, that all will come to believe. But how are they to believe in You if they have not heard? Lord, I pray that I will be a good ambassador, pointing people the way to Your love. Not only in words, but also in my actions throughout the week.
I ask this in Your Son’s precious and holy Name. Amen
