This week’s meditation is Romans 5:8:

But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (ESV)

Dear God, how deep is your love for us? How great are your mercies? Do your wonders never cease? How long will you be patient?

Your love and your compassion for us are without end. Even while we were sinners you sent Christ to suffer and die for us. Lord, I did nothing to deserve this sacrifice, and yet you in your love for me, and with the desire that none should perish, suffered pain, humiliation, torture, and death so that I might live.

Lord, I am so thankful that you looked down on me, a sinner, with love and compassion and pulled me out of the depths and brought me into your glorious light.
