Today’s meditation is on Ephesians 4:32:

³² Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.

Why is it, God, that forgiveness can be so hard for us? When we are wronged, we have such a hard time letting go. Sometimes we never do. But you have told us we must always forgive. You have told us we must love, and pray for, our enemies.

When we sin we separate ourselves from you. And yet when we come back to you and we ask for forgiveness you give it to us. Lord, we do not deserve this, and yet that is how much you love us.

God, when I feel I have been wronged, please help me to remember the forgiveness you have given me. And help me to forgive others the same way You forgave me.
