He is Risen! Faith Restored
When they finally caught their breath, the story they told was remarkable! They got to the grave and the stone was rolled away and Jesus’ body was missing. But that was not all; an angel had told them Jesus had risen and is alive!

The Day Faith Felt Like Failure
Jesus’ bloodied body now hung limp and breathless on a cross. The man so many people thought was the Messiah was dead, and they felt that all hope for Israel was lost. Not only was the man executed, but he was “cursed by God.” (Deuteronomy 21:22-23) Nobody expected God’s Messiah would be hanged on a cross.

How Hard Were Their Hearts?
As belief continued to spread among the people, it did nothing but add to the Pharisees’ growing anger and their hearts became more hardened every day. What should have been a time of rejoicing at the coming of the Messiah, and the fulfillment of prophecy, instead turned into a fight for the hearts of the people.
