The Dalton Files: Fellowship

I arrived at Sunday service about fifteen minutes early and was warmly greeted by people who were obviously glad when they saw new people coming to church. I sat toward the back, trying not to draw too much attention to myself. A few people came over to greet me, and invited me to fellowship. I introduced myself and told them I would be there after the service. I was looking forward to talking with them.

Perfect Pitch in Heaven?

I love to sing, I always have. The problem is, nobody wants to hear me. I can’t sing. And I don’t just mean I can’t carry a tune. It’s much worse than that; I’m tone deaf. The Dalton Files: At the Church

This wasn’t going to be an easy task. I took a moment while driving to ask God for perseverance. I had a feeling I was going to need it. I was feeling pretty low. On one hand, I was glad there was nothing in Mary’s police record, but still, part of me wished there was. At least then I would have had a semi decent lead to work with.

Freedom in Christ

Tomorrow is a big day. We’ll be celebrating America’s 250th birthday. 250 years of freedom from tyranny and from rule by another country. 250 years of freedom. Period. We will be celebrating the fact that, as Americans, we are free to do almost anything we want to do, be anything we want to be, and go wherever we want to go. “It is altogether fitting and proper we should do this.”

How great the chasm that lay between us.
How high the mountain I could not climb.
In desperation, I turned to heaven,
And spoke Your name into the night.
Then through the darkness, Your loving kindness,
Tore through the shadows of my soul
